Poem adapted from the original by Jill Noakes
‘Twas the first week in December and all through Navan town Excitement was building because a party was going down The ladies were gathered at Castello’s with care, Knowing that our souvlaki soon would be there. Our proof of vaccines we were ready to show, As we came in the restaurant out of the snow. The tables were set, and the drinks were all poured The mood was so happy—there was no discord. When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter That Eli sprung up to see what was the matter He took a quick look to be sure all was fine And be certain that no one had stolen the wine Just to be sure, he did a head count To ensure that the ladies were all still about He saw Esther and Doreen; Paulette and Karen He saw Mary and Anne-Marie and Linda and Erin There was Pamela and Jill; Barbara and Trudy There was Eve and Lorraine and Mrs. Claus and Joanie Now here we are gathered on this Tuesday night To bask in our friendships’ circle bright So let’s all join together to remember this sight Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night
We had such a great party — first time together in person in 18 months — the meal was delicious thanks to Eli and Myrna and it was so nice to meet our newest member, Lorraine. Merry Christmas to everyone
