Our friend and WI member Catherine Hyde was an amazing woman. She was full of life, very loyal, and active all the time. She loved her family, her friends and being outdoors. Gardening was one of her passions and she was the “go to” person for all of us if we needed advice on a particular landscaping problem.
When a group of women in our area started snowshoeing in the winters, she was keen to join in and quickly came to love the experience of snowshoeing on the trails that surround Navan. A favourite trail went past an area of the woods that had been damaged by the 1998 Ice Storm. She loved the interesting way that the trees had fallen in a tangle and called it a picturesque “kerfuffle.” That name stuck and the area became known as Catherine’s Kerfuffle.
After she passed away in 2018, our member Doreen painted this sign in memory of Catherine and the joy she brought to everything that she did.
