It was an absolutely beautiful summer night to enjoy Romeo + Juliet in the park! And it was just wonderful to see so many people come out to enjoy the show, especially the children. Getting the next generation hooked on Shakespeare – yes! When I first suggested we bring Shakespeare to Navan, I was not so sure that it would take off; so it’s spectacular to see it moving full steam ahead.
We had a great dinner after the show. Once again, we enjoyed some absolutely delicious dishes. Many thanks to Karen, Jill, Linda, Pam, and Hedy for your yummy contributions. Everyone was raving about the food, even me (ok, yes, I was raving about my own contributions too!).
A little tid-bit. The actors, director, manager, and crew expressed their gratitude for having food and drinks after the play, for a couple of reasons. Some of them said that they cannot eat before the play as they start preparations around 4 pm or so and they are too pumped up to eat. Others said that they needed the down-time after the play, as they are too wound up after the play and truly appreciate just chilling out together before going home to bed.
What a fabulous experience for a great summer night!!
